On Sunday, Mohd Radzhi announced that he had quit PKR and all party posts and declared himself an independent assemblyman as he had lost confidence in the party leadership.

Azizan said the Sultan had also consented to the appointment of Kulim state assemblyman Lim Soo Nee of PKR to fill the vacant Exco post.

"The swearing-in ceremony will be held next week as many officers are still abroad. We must also check Tuanku's calendar.

"The menteri besar said he would discuss with the State Secretary on whether to add or change the Exco portfolios adding that he would be holding the vacant post until the swearing-in ceremony.

Meanwhile, Kedah PKR chairman Ahmad Kassim said Lim's choice as replacement for Mohd Radzhi was made following talks between the menteri besar and the PKR adviser.

He said Lim's choice was also based on geographical factor since Lunas was situated near Kulim. (Bernama)
